You know us by now. We talk about the unknown. Find those new brands, those designers that you haven’t heard about before. Normally, anyway. Being one of the best known Swedish clothing brands out there, WeSC aren’t exactly unknown. But when we got sent through their AW16 collection we couldn’t not post something. It’s just too fly. So come take a look at what the Swedes have on offer this winter…
Looking back at the last 8 months (it’s amazing how time flies), it’s clear that nobody does minimalism and an effortless, clean-line style better than Scandinavians brands. Building a bigger and bigger presence in menswear, there is no one right now producing such effortless cool.
WeSC Autumn/Winter 2016
Just to recap your brains; We Are The Superlative Conspiracy are a brand that was born in the 90’s. The best years of my life. Walking into my local skate shop, Street Talk in Redhill (if you know it then high five brother), I remember seeing their tees displayed at the back of the store. Just hanging there. Waiting. Little did I know that this skate and street culture brand from Sweden would make it so big.
Over the year they have taken a step back from more generic trends and focuses instead on more premium street-style.
The AW16 collection is inspired by the legend of Kurt Cobain, and have designed a three-quarter length cardigan in dark green that smacks of the famous MTV Unplugged gig, and the spirit of the 90 ́s Seattle punk/alternative rock scene. This play against the established order represents values that resonate with the WeSC DNA.
The WeSC AW16 collection has four key looks; the allover indigo, the Seattle punk, the graphic mix and the urban minimal.
Effortlessly stylish flannel check shirts sit alongside bold prints, Breton stripes and the introduction of cool mohair knits, including a signature stripe and three-quarter-length cardigan. Outerwear features the denim sherper-lined work jacket; three-quarter military patched navy and plain green bomber as well as winter fishtail Parka. The latest A/W16 Collection is finished with staple denim range and exciting new footwear which includes casual white trainers through to Chukka boot and black brogue Blucher.
Personally I’ve got my eyes on those creps. Nothing gets me going like a fine pair of brogues. That khaki tracksuit will also be on my wishlist, it’s just too fly. What do you think about the next WeSC collection? Tell us in the comments below!
