You know how we feel about sportswear. We like nothing more than lounging around in joggers and sweatshirts. A pair of fresh kicks straight out of the box, surrounded by silica packets. If we didn’t have normal jobs to go to, you wouldn’t find us dressed in anything else. So when we come across a new brand like 54 Floral, the excitement is seriously palpable.
Who Are 54 Floral?
Hailing from the North West of England, 54 Floral was founded by two brothers with a passion for design. Beginning in 2013, the brand was initially founded to assuage that devil of university debt, but has rapidly grown to become one of the most exciting streetwear brands in the UK. One year later, debt free and running an online global business, 54 Floral are stocked in several UK stores with more soon to come.
With influences evident from skate brands like Supreme New York, their pared back, classic colours over staple pieces are designed for all occasions. Whether you’re cruising on your board down town, kicking back at home or rolling around in your best friend’s Fiat Panda, 54 Floral have got you covered.
And it’s this sense of classic design that we love. Rather than trying to follow current trends, they are all about creating clothes that will stand the test of time:
We aren’t wanting to be a trendy brand because that adds a time limit on when its popular and when its not. We try and keep our clothing classic, as it allows for longevity for the brand to grow and stick to its principles.
Initially beginning as a unisex brand, the ‘Floral’ in their name is a play on ‘For All’. Though as the brand has grown, they have chosen to focus their energy on creating clothing for men instead. For any girls reading this, don’t worry, they’re looking to pursue womenswear in the near future. Though there’s no reason boys and girls alike can’t rock this heather grey trackie.
With screen printing and embroidery undertaken locally, the brand are keen to boost their local economy and keep as much of their manufacturing process in the UK as possible.
Their latest range featuring bags, vests, beanies and windbreakers, we highly recommend you take a look at their website below. (There’s also a bit of a sale on right now if you hurry!)
